In a many-layered collaborative process, Upendo Taylor drew on luan wood panels, Marcus photographed those drawings, the studio projected Pen’s drawing on our outside wall, Marcus shot our beautiful model in front of the projected drawing, our retouchers touched up that imagery, the imagery was printed, Upendo came back to the studio to draw on the printed image with paint pens, and lastly Marcus photographed the final illustrated piece.
