Nike Free Run

Nike just released its imagery from the new Nike Free Run product, designed to give any runner a barefoot feel while not sacrificing protection of a shoe. I’m proud to say that Swanson Studio shot the stills for this product!

When the shooting for the shoe was going on, I was still a production assistant; but for this lucky day, I was to be a foot model (Ladies, if you are a size 6.5-7.5 you may have a future in foot modeling at Nike.)! However, being a foot model is no easy task I’m afraid.

Try arching your foot

for a couple hours, and you’ll see that your precontrived notions about foot modeling will go right out the window. It was like doing calf raises for a couple hours….

Needless to say, it was a first hand experience about shoe photography, and all and all, a unique perspective into the industry (and my calves got a workout!). My foot did not turn out to be in the advertisements that you see at the Nike store and Foot Locker, but it’s probably best that they chose a professional for those final images!

Our photographers and retouchers worked hand in hand to make this specific wing pattern as well as the glow that emanated from within. The glow fade out on the heel of the shoe was a challenge, but in the end, the photo illustration really came through.

What’s pretty cool about this product is that you can make it your own. If you go online, you’ll be able to play around with all parts of the shoe,  engrave your name, and change up design patterns.

And last but not least, here’s the video for these shoes that is just too sweet, it made my morning
